Gimme Shelter

Hi everybody
Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers for my sister Susan. It was so unexpected that it took a couple of weeks for me to realize her untimely death.

I'm doing well, thanks to Paula, Jon, and Steven. It hasn't been without infant symptoms. That's right, I'm starting as an infant in blood. The sun on my skin actually burns instead of feeling warm. This will go away later on; this is true of many of the facets of my recovery. In the months to come, I'll have to get re-vaccinated as they do infants. For instance, a virus surfaced in my blood, which I'm getting treated for, that you get early in childhood and become immune to.

Day to day living is pleasant thanks to my support group. Life is good for Carl Wood. I will be in Houston till after the first of the year, as the plan goes. I have to stay within 10 minutes of the emergency room at MD Anderson for 100 days past my transplant day which was 9/25/2012, my new birthday. Of course I'm trying to curtail the stay by harnessing the power of my caregivers, who, are the unequivocal reasons for my good health and attitude, as are all of your thoughts and prayers.

Jon and Steven are back in the Magic Kingdom this week tying up some home life that they so deserve. Really, how long can you stay at your parents side, with the whisper of the sirens of NYC in your ears. Thanksgiving will be here with Jon, Steven, and Paula's sister Louise, around Steven's brined and juicy bird. How lucky are we who partake in the fruits.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and thank you for your prayers and thoughts.
Love, Carl
